Where to Visit

Dunrobin Castle

Dunrobin Castle is just five miles from your accommodation and is one of the country's oldest inhabited houses. The castle is the seat of the Clan Sutherland (its roots stretch back to the early 14th century) and contains a wide range of paintings, memorabilia and period furniture.
The Castle and Gardens of Mey

If you'd like to follow in the footsteps of royalty, The Castle and Gardens of Mey is located in Thurso, just 90 minutes from your apartment. This five-star visitor attraction was the summer residence of the Queen Mother and boasts an attractive visitor and animal centre.

Brora Heritage Centre

For those looking to dig deeper into Brora's archaeological and industrial legacy, the Brora Heritage Centre takes you on a journey from the Stone Age to the present day, with exhibitions, interactive displays and a dinosaur play area on hand to keep all members of the family happy.

Timespan

Timespan is an award-winning museum exploring the heritage of the area and is located just 20 minutes from your apartment or villa. It offers you the opportunity to learn more about the Northern Highlands and is Sutherland's only public contemporary art gallery.

Whisky Distilleries

Sample a wee dram and take a tour around the Clynelish Distillery, located just five minutes from your accommodation. This distillery uses spring water from the nearby Clynemilton Burn to create its own special blend. Further afield, the Glenmorangie Distillery is 20 minutes south of Brora, while Old Pulteney is just 60 minutes away in Wick.

Whaligoe

Located less than 60 minutes north of your accommodation, a visit to Whaligoe allows you to descend the 330 Whaligoe Steps, a path cut into a gorge by 19th century fishermen, before heading back up and inland to the Cairn of Get, a chambered tomb that's stood for well over 5,000 years.

North West Highland Geopark

The North West Highland Geopark is an area of geological interest and just a 60-minute drive from your accommodation. This varied landscape comprises of mountains, sandy beaches and ancient settlements, and is considered an area of world-class importance and quality.
